Oh my gosh, I found a wish outside the Contemporary last night!!! I was so excited, naturally the rest of my "posse" walked right by it. It was about being thin without being anorexic, I can't remember the exact wish and the penny is downstairs right now and I'm too lazy to run down there. Oddly, it was just perfect for me since I am pretty much weight obsessed, struggling with it as I near 50 and my metabolism changes, ooooh way tmi huh? Anyhoo, I love what you are doing with this. Such a cool project.
Thank you. I dropped several pennies around the Contemporary last night for the preview party (probably around 20 or so), including "I wish I didn't have to be anorexic to be thin." Most of them were gone before I left, so people picked them up.
Awhile ago, a friend of mine, Marlene DiFiori Locke, informed me that she reached into her wallet and discovered one of my pennies. She had no idea where it had come from and thinks she may have received it in change.
Very cool. Thank you for sharing your find. I am hoping to revive this site and this project as the weather gets warmer again and I can leave more wishes out and about.
My family was visiting St. Louis (A 6 hour drive from our Oklahoma home) the 18th and 19th for my much needed Spring Break. After the zoo we walked up to the Art Museum that my sister and I (both artists) had been looking forward to. I'm the one in my family who's usually finding change everywhere. My mom was up ahead of me and stopped and pointed to the ground to a penny that I quickly snatched up and stuck in my pocket. It wasn't until later in the museum that I was feeling around in my pockets that I noticed something with a rather smooth surface in my pocket and wondered what it was. I pulled it out and realized the penny I had picked up had a little sticker for this site on it and said "Be Happy".
Thank you for posting your find. I hope that you have a wonderful stay in St. Louis. Feel free to read more about the project here on the blog and to participate if you like.
I work at a bank and the top penny of an unopened roll read "I wish I could act like I want". It looked like a little message in a bottle. Very neat project, keep up the good work!
A Creative Commons project begun by Jennifer Weigel in which pennies were altered with the addition of small stickers, each sticker voicing a wish or desire (some based on my own wants, others based on wishes that I perceive others to have). The pennies were left penny side up, sticker side down, on the sidewalk such that passer-bys will happen upon them and pick them up.

I found one awhile back that read "I wish everybody had someone" I found it very sweet and decided to keep it. It's here by my computer now.

Very cool. I used to work at a bank, but that aspect of this project never occurred to me. Thank you very much for sharing your find.
